Founded in 1903 by Julius Chein, the company specialised in lithographed tinplate toys and piggy banks. Between 1941 and 1945, the company exclusively manufactured weapons components, before resuming toy production until 1979. The first logo was used until the 1920s. The second shield logo appeared in 1933 and lasted until the early 1950s. In the 1930s and until the early 1940s, Chein used the tricolour blue, white and red logo.
In 1987, the company was sold.
